Cox names Carroll's Taylor and Moebuis to campaign posts
His team for the general election takes shape
Carroll County’s Sallie Taylor and Mercedes Moebuis have both been named as officials in support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Cox as he takes on progressive Democrat Wes Moore in Maryland’s upcoming general election.
On Friday, in a press release issued by Cox, Taylor was recognized as being his statewide Campaign Office Director, a role which she’ll basically be reprising as she had previously served as Delegate Cox’s Chief of Staff in the General Assembly and as his Campaign Manager, only vacating those roles to pursue her own Delegate post in Carroll’s District 5 which she narrowly lost out on after running a universally well regarded campaign.
Taylor told Muckraker she was thrilled to be working for Cox again and hopes people keep underestimating him — “we are going to win” she said.
Taylor will continue to support Cox’s grassroots efforts in securing freedom for Marylanders, enabling parental rights in education, ensuring violent criminals are prosecuted in accordance with law, and easing the inflationary pressures now affecting virtually all everyday working people.
Otherwise introduced as Cox’s Carroll County Captain was Moebuis, who was won over by Cox early on for his support of parental rights in education when issues of masking and critically race theorizing children were at their zenith, which Moebuis herself worked to resist in Carroll in her capacity as the of Co-Founder of Concerned Parents and as Vice Chair of Carroll’s Moms for Liberty chapter.
Moebuis is also the President of the Republican Women’s Club of Carroll County.
As Carroll Captain, she’ll be a go-to local resource for all things related to Cox’s campaign, including but not limited to: managing events, distributing signs and literature, recruiting volunteers, and organizing door knocking.
Separately introduced as Cox’s new Campaign Manager was Zach Werrell, a Leonardtown High School graduate who according to Linkedin is completing a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas this year, and who Delegate Matt Morgan thinks will “shake things up”.
