Carroll's Kit Hart wins Joyful Warrior award at Moms for Liberty conference in Tampa Florida
Age of the momma bear continues
On Saturday, Carroll County’s Moms for Liberty chapter Chair Kit Hart was awarded with the influential nationwide organization’s first ever Joyful Warrior award at a conference in Tampa Bay Florida.
The award was to be bestowed on an individual who “exhibits grace under pressure” and a “positive attitude” while fighting for liberty and parental rights, with an emphasis on “building relationships”, “learning to work with those we many not always agree with”, and “setting an example our children can be proud of”.
As Hart was summoned onto the stage to receive her award, a video was played of her speaking at a Board of Education meeting where she defended a peaceful protest she engaged in to give voice to unheard children, followed by a congratulations from her husband which drew awwws of endearment from the crowd, and was concluded with a handful of affirmations from her fellow Carroll moms who referred to her as the “ultimate momma bear” and a “fearless leader”.
When she finally took the stage to give her acceptance speech, she explained how a year ago she had no idea she would ever become someone who would speak for moms and parents nationwide, but only wanted to get the masks off the kids — a feat she was able to help make a reality here in Carroll.
Her Carroll County chapter has more than 600 Facebook members, and in close partnership with the Concerned Parents of Carroll County and a few courageous Board of Education members, has been able to make tangible progress in the fight to preserve the freedoms of children and parents in a state were liberty is a value more often scoffed at than held sacred.
She has otherwise been a central figure in the placement of a Moms for Liberty billboard quoting Thomas Paine in Eldersburg, held a fundraiser for parental rights advocate and Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Cox, and participated in a shoe drop protest meant to illustrate how many students the school system would lose if unscientific and unconstitutional mandates were foisted upon the local population — to say nothing of her and her associate’s Board of Education speeches which have racked up thousands of shares and engagements on Facebook nationwide.
Her activism has been so effective that the lowly in her community have taken to impersonating her on Facebook in an effort to smear her reputation, but obviously to no avail.
And as if her Saturday wasn’t busy enough, she also had an Op-Ed published in Chalkboard Review, where she detailed the decades long deterioration of education and told the story of how Carroll’s Board of Education instituted and enforced a political neutrality policy.
Otherwise speaking at the conference was Blaze Media’s Allie Beth Stuckey, and Florida’s popular conservative Governor Ron DeSantis, who many argue is now the favorite to win the 2024 presidency, who underscored the importance of conservatives winning Board of Education races nationwide, before being awarded the “Liberty Sword”.
